Or really Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, women my age grew up with them and probably admire them as an actress and as the respected designer they are today. I on the other hand still couldn’t decide. But ever since I read an article of their store opening, The Row in Melrose, I started kin-of-liking them. The layout of the place is genius and the minimalist feel is always an A+ in my book. it looks like a big open walk in closet sans the clutter. Then the next factor is the Elizabeth and James, gorgeous designs on both the clothing articles and jewelry articles, their price is also not bad, I wouldn’t mind paying for a $95 ring as pretty at this with high quality plating.

It’s been a while since I made a jewelry. I didn’t even realize how much I missed it until I decided I needed a chain for a Chanel medallion pendant I got online. I bought it as recycled fashion, the authentic pendant with a necklace chain but the chain does not match the pendant at all, I tried looking for a ready made chain but could not find the best one, so I decided for a DIY, nothing fancy, simple and basic, see material used below
1 – 17″ brass chain
1 – Brass Trigger clasp 1 – Open jump ring
1 – Flat nose pliers and curve tip nose pliers
I found these materials at www.houseofgems.com. Their prices are reasonable, they ship fast and hey they are located in Orange County, CA so just 1 day ship to me. I searched for the right color of chains and findings at the other local stores but couldn’t find exactly what I am looking for to make this chain.
They also have some really nice beads for my future DIY later.
Lately, I’ve been eyeing some really gorgeous pieces inspired by mother nature and/or made from natural minerals. I have to start a collection. So far I have 2 pieces (that I can find), it would have been more if the 12 year old boy (my son Gavyn) didn’t beg me for a necklace. Maybe I can reclaim it once he deemed it uncool and decided that he doesn’t believe in the power of the Citrine on its pendant. The other pieces are unknown in location *sad face*
Currently and without a doubt, my favorite piece is a Poshmark find from the designer Jennifer Matrasko, the ring is made of the most beautiful amethyst stalactite I’ve ever seen. It is adjustable w/ filigree base and painted with 24k gold.
But for office wear I mostly use a purchase from Urban Outfitters. Sadly, I do not know the material name but as you can see, they are inspired by natural elements.
These pieces and anything like it in elements are perfect all year round, more so during this summer season because of its vibrant colors. I would be wearing blah office attire (which is not saying much because we dress casual at work, but you know what I mean) and any of these piece instantly adds flair to my outfit. I would be wearing nothing else on my arm / finger and it would still make a statement. Below are some suggestions and pieces on my wish list to be added to my collection.

The last week of April and May were an extremely busy and stressful week for me. Work had been kicking my butt, we had a huge project that we worked on and on June 9th, we’ll finally hear if all my hard work is going to pay off. School has been crazy as well. I have to drop a subject to lessen the stress. I am not happy about that nor it made me feel better but it has to be done. The home front is also pretty stressful as well but the family’s relationship is intact its the other stuff that we have a problem with a.k.a bills. LOL So thank goodness for little happiness and retail therapy (bargain hunting) in life, those stressors got lessened a little bit.

This is a birthday gift I bought for myself. This ultra cute, budget friendly, designer inspired Playing Cards clutch was customized especially for me. I got a great deal for it too. One of our factory at work didn’t even charge me a mold fee for this. One of the perks in working as a purchaser. Love it.
Lately, I find myself buying jewelries that has an evil eye in its design. So Far I have 4 favorites, the other ones I bought for cheap and not worth keeping anymore. I personally stop buying cheap base metal jewelries as well. A sterling silver, gold, high polish that won’t tarnish or turn my skin to green is the way to go and it gives my money’s worth.
I buy most of my jewelry from TJ Maxx, I found some really cool and unique pieces in there, some are even designer brands for the fraction of its cost.
This ring above was found at a store in Catalina Island, they have so many cute pieces that I want to buy them all, but I promised myself that I will only get one and this was it.
I found these three for my wish list:
