New Jewelry obsession – Vanessa Mooney

Saks Fifth Avenue

I had my eye on this designer for a while now but her prices are not a joke and for someone on a budget it is kind of a stretch but totally worth it. It also helped that I found a seller that gives me really great deal on these.

Her designs are so unique, they are the perfect embodiment of the “free spirited”. Shopping for it is so addicting that when I finally started a week ago, I made it a goal to buy a few pieces every week. Well ok as long as I can get a good deal on price for it. To match this new jewelry collection, I also started buying clothing article that are bohemian and gypsy chic inclined. I am happy to report that I believe I can pull it off. ha! Below are pieces I have so far

I love them all but my absolute favorite pieces the Lillian and the SuperNova collection of the Unearthly ring and bangle. I like the unique design and how there is an unobtrusive natural stone that made a lot of difference to the piece.

The only big blunder I have about it is – the plating are not sealed / coated so when I wear the ring my finger turned green. But like I said I love the designs so much I research and was at one point even considered going to a jeweler to have them dipped in real gold but the cost of it was a real bummer so I researched some more and found out that Krylon Crystal Clear Glossy spray can preserve it the way I wanted. I was so scared that I will ruin the finish and the jewelry itself so I tested it on other pieces. I am happy to report that after 3 tries it was a success and I started spraying it on my Mooney pieces.

Sand Cloud apparel – review

I support small business and start ups, they all have the potential to be great and it is always exciting to be there when they are new. One of the companies that reached out to me is called the Sand Cloud Apparel. The company is located and founded in sunny San Diego, CA. The founders Brandon and Steven decided the world needed a better product for laying on the beach. Their backpacks used as pillow is not cutting it anymore and that’s how Sand Cloud Beach towel is born.

The Sand Cloud beach towel has a built in pillow that makes lounging more comfortable and if you take the pillow it can be also use as a sarong. Since its inception it was being marketed as a beach towel but really it can be used everywhere. I especially love using it when the family and I go to the park and recently took it with me to San Diego when we slept over a cousins house and used it to lay on the floor. While this is made from 100% (and handmade) Turkish cotton which makes it extremely absorbent and it will last a long time I love my beach towels fluffy so I will mostly use this as a lounging towel and use my regular beach towel.

For more information about the product please visit the company’s website at www.sandcloudapparel.com. Please also visit my giveaway page for this product enter here for a chance to win.

The company is also about giving back, for every sale they make they donate 10% of net profits to foundations that supports preservation of Marine Life.

That two piece dress

An item on my wish list is a two piece dress. The one where in you have a crop top and then a skirt to match it. I love it so much but the designs out there is something my physique wouldn’t match. Most dress I tried are either too big or too small. And then eShakti was introduced to me. They provide designs for their clothing and you can customize it based on your measurements. So they go beyond the typical small to large size we find at our favorite retailers, in short there is no such thing as out of stock or “not available in your size”. Another feature is  you can modify the styles and choose different sleeves, neck line cuts and length. It is having your own tailor without the ridiculous price and they can make it in 14 days. This is the website where I found the two piece dress that I am looking for. It is 50’s inspired navy color. This is the photo of their original design.lip And I modified it with a short sleeves, sweet heard neckline and knee length skirt. The look is of a vintage inspired 1950’s reconstructed piece. Here is the finish product IMG_2055

uuuu

I really love the dress it is so comfortable, the color is great, I really love the red and white stripes in the crop top. The company also used quality material for this two piece dress and the construction is crafted beautifully. It is especially a plus that the customer service is excellent.

Geometric, Art Deco Bangles

JuiceBeauty.com   I am currently obsessed with geometric theme in jewelry, sure it is always there but the ones that I favor looks bad ass. It is a minimalist dream but definitely had a punch of making a statement. I especially love the ones with stones in them.

Shopping Haul 2

Peter Thomas Roth Labs, LLC

I’ve been absent of the blogosphere this past few days, with the July 4th holiday, I was just really looking forward on relaxing and just being lazy. I am not a huge fan of alcoholic drinks anymore, but that weekend I got some what inebriated for 2 days straight, we celebrated John’s birthday at their house and ended up sleeping there since I had 4 beers (enough to get a DUI, so its a NO NO) and I am the DD then the next day we went to our friend Alphy and Rommel’s house in Cerritos to celebrate the 4th, and as soon as I walked in I counted 12 Hennessey bottles with 1 already empty. I had some shots but not to the point where in you swear not to drink alcohol for the rest of your life. You guys know what I am talking about?! Anyway it is always fun celebrating the 4th there since fireworks are legal in LA county (well with restrictions of course), it feels like the New Year’s Eve in the Philippines, Gabe (my 2 year old) got to light up sparklers for the first time, it was priceless. How was your July 4th celebration?

Earlier that day Gabe and I decided we wanted to go to the mall. Me? to check out good deals of course and him to ride the carousel at South Coast Plaza and get some $1 toys from Target. All in all it was a good weekend. *smiles*

Review: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine #94

Vip Summer 2014 at FORZIERI.COM

Since the beginning of this month I’ve been looking for the perfect shade of lipstick. Something light but not really a neutral. Something red with a mauve tone, subtle, work appropriate, something close to my natural lip color that won’t look pale or bland. So many conditions right? Well I plan on spending a ridiculous amount for a lip stick (for the first time) so might it might as well be the perfect one for me. For the longest time my lippy of choice is the Fresh Sugar Rose by itself. I love that it leaves my lips moisturized unlike the many brands I’ve tried but I am ready to move on a get something like it but with more shade. With that said I was looking for a lipstick with a powerful lip treatment in it. I’ve tried  4 lip stick total,  YSL was my first choice and it was great, but I decided the shade I picked is more for a night time wear, my search recommenced. Sephora must hate me already, I’ve since tried Lancôme then Dior to Smashbox and finally landed the Rouge Coco Shine #94 bought at Nordstrom. This specific color is not on Chanel’s summer collection but for Fall 2014. I really don’t care even if it is last season’s shade, all I care about is how the color looks perfect on me. Most lipstick gives me that chapped feeling but not this one, I love how it moisturizes my lips. Application is smooth, it is creamy and lightweight, there’s a subtle scent. For my 8 hour work day I reapplied it 3x, it is not designed as a long wear lipstick but it does what I need. Everything they say on their online description checks out.
