Review: Zara Mini – City Bag

Lately I’ve been on the satchel slash cross body style of purses and the Zara Mini City has been on my watch list. It is the perfect size (10″x12″x4″) and shape for an everyday office use. It fits all my basic essentials: full size wallet, make up pouch, travel size lotion, sanitizer, small notebook, clear zipper pouch for small documents and other knick knacks. The outside material and the strap  are made of 100% polyurethane which have the saffiano like feel. The inside lining is cotton. I love the sturdy structure and the navy shade, it is perfect. It is a neutral color for what I have in my wardrobe.  The gold plating on the padlock hardware of the bag is also of high quality, I expect the shine to last a little bit longer with a help of a polishing cloth. Over all the bag is well made and price is just right.

Baguette cut, a 2014 Fall jewelry trend

Alexis Bittar

Just in the news, the baguette cut is making a comeback this Fall according to Women’s Wear Daily. Vintage lovers and classic art rejoice! The Baguette cut is an elongated or rectangular table cut, the term came from the French word bague which means finger ring. It was also  very popular trend during the Art Nouveau period (1880 – 1910) and the Art Deco period (1925 – 1941) think about The Great Gatsby, roaring 20’s, the Chrysler building, etc.

Say Good Bye to Juicy Couture stores

Bags of Glory at FORZIERI.COM

If you haven’t heard already, yesterday, news broke that Juicy Couture will be closing all its US stores the end of this month. The brand was mostly known for its tracksuits, velour bags and the adorable Scottie dog in its insignia. It was also a best seller for young and trendy celebrities during their peak but like all others the success dwindled down. I am not the fan of their clothing but I do love their jewelry, they are  the girliest ones I own. To be honest I am not shocked about this news but it saddens me that it is happening, its an end of an era, like parts of my teenage years. Some where along the way the quality of their product has declined, the designs became more mediocre and while I am not a fan of pink, the light color their original color had was tolerable but 2010 the pink color changed, it looked horrid. Their brand was marketed as high end yet it looks and feels cheap. So I stop buying. A very good friend of mine feels the same way and she was a big fan. She still have a vast collection that she’ll pass along to her adorable daughter.

Best Juicy Couture Ad that made me buy their jewelries

But they won’t be completely gone, they will still be around and their website just relaunched on Monday. “Authentic Brands Group, Juicy’s new owner, said in November it had given Kohl’s a nonexclusive right to sell Juicy Couture products in its stores and on beginning in the fall.” ( and today Huffington Post reported there is a plan to establish a Juicy Couture boutique, tentatively named World of Juicy in New York next spring. Below is the photo of the proposed store and its concept would be exclusive like brick and mortar of Gucci, Louis Vuitton, etc. but with a Henri Bendel feel. That bit of news got me all excited, I really hope it works out, the brand is a piece of American Pop Culture whether some of us like it or not.

Luxe Summer Sale at FORZIERI.COM

Weekend Jewel Finds

The first part of this jewel find happened last Friday while looking for a wedding attire for the next day I got side tracked and decided to window shop jewelries as well. it did not go so well I ended up buying a few pieces. So I am hoping for more sales from my Poshmark closet for it. he! Every once in a while I would give in to Alloy / Copper material base jewelry because of the unique and cute factor, this is one of them. Urban Outfitters had some really cute rings for the minimalist. It took me quite  while to decide on my final pieces. I went home and applied a coat of clear nail polish to prevent the skin on my fingers into turning green.

The second part was just window shopping, this one was a slight success, except I got suckered into buying a braided Rainbow sandals but other than that it went fine. I window shopped  here —-> Free Shipping Free Returns Everyday. Shop NORDSTROM to find pieces for my to buy list (and yes  some I hoping for it to be on sale soon) and here are my picks

And the last part was Sunday, the family and I went to Nordstrom Rack to get the 2 year old a new kicks for the summer, man their feet grows so fast, 2 months ago we got him some Sperry’s and it barely fits now. Anyway as I was standing in line to pay I spotted this tray with cuffs and there’s this one that truly stands out, I tried to resist but I couldn’t. It was so pretty!

Are you a designer, do you represent a company or a shop owner? I’d love to see your collection. For features and interview please e-mail me at

The perfect summer purses

Purses are very crucial in accessorizing, I rarely see a female sans handbag draped in her arm. It is just not possible, the stuff in our bags or as the male species would call it “junk” have to be placed somewhere else right? Our environment is demanding we use less plastic in these generation, so most grocery shopper either have a recycled non-woven tote bag in their midst. Mothers like me, either carry a baby bag or an oversized tote to haul all the stuff for our babies, but now that he is 2 years old, I can actually pack light with the use of a medium size crossbody bag. Club goers op for the cutest clutches, working woman either gets a tote bag, brief case or any top handle that would look professional yet still incredibly stylish. Said handbag suggestions also comes in different colors, occasions, etc. Like the different styles, every season, the female population also match everything we wear with the season. You can’t wear long sleeves or jacket in the summer that would be insane, well it goes that same with bags, sure not to much but still… Anyway, this leads to my original subject, “The Perfect Summer purses” I think most of us can agree that bright colors and pastels are it or prints / patterns that screams summer! He are different summer perfect purses for every style, what’s best about it is it won’t break the bank. (click the images to but the bag)

I am a shoe addict. I actually mellowed down a lot, I don’t even remember the last time I purchased shoes, I still have a bunch of unworn ones and that’s how I realize that it has gone too far and I could have bought other things with it or movie hop with Gavyn (my 12 year old), visit that trampoline place with the 2 year old, or buy a hubby something. And yeah the husband’s stern voice that told me “seriously, you gotta stop buying sandals, it’s ridiculous” got to me. But I won’t lie, I terribly miss the process of gathering all the shoe style I wanted, trying them on and posing in front of the mirror to see if it looks good on me. On several occasions I’ve enlisted help of fellow shoppers in the decision making on which one is the most worthy in a bunch. Below are #shoefie that I made through out the years. If you have made a #shoefie yourself, please leave me a comment I would love to check out your gallery.
